Please stay tuned for a new feature to the blog page. In the above section there will hopefully be a widget that will carry the latest installment of my video log for GH708. I hope you enjoy it. The first one may be kind of short and bland, but I promise they will improve.

Well, we are full swing into the learning process. The accelerated math class finished up their projects on using a four step approach to problem solving. I strongly encourage you to go to our accelerated math page and view these. The grade level math group continues to impress me with their hard work and it excites me to see how much learning is occurring.
In Science we continued our learning about cells. The students worked on a learning activity about cells, which is linked on our Science page and can be accessed from home. I observed many positive examples of student learning and development of mastery of the content. The students are preparing for a summative assessment on cells that will be given on Thursday, September 6. Finally, we had two new additions to our GH708 community due to the merging of a 5th grade class caused by our low student to teacher ratio. We will all miss Mrs. Lowe as she leaves us to teach 5th grade at Carolina Springs and we happily welcome our two new students to Mrs. Jones' homeroom. Mr. Bosch |

Another successful day. Today the students went around and learned expectations for the Roadrunner Responsibilities in the different areas of the school (Restrooms, Cafeteria, Hallways, Bus, All Around).
Today in math the accelerated group continued to work on a project using the four step approach to problem solving. They will be making short movies depicting the use of this approach, keep your eyes out for these movies on the Accelerated Math page of this wiki. The grade level group started looking at place value today, which included using a MS Excel spreadsheet to help with understanding expanded form of numbers. In science we started talking about Cells as the basic building block of all living things. The students began filling out a student diagram of a cell and in the next few days will work on creating a virtual cell diagram. Mr. Bosch |
